Green Toys

Green Toys emerged from a simple yet powerful idea: that play can genuinely contribute to a better world. Founded by Robert von Goeben and Laurie Hyman in 2007, the company was born out of a desire to create toys that were not only safe and fun but also sustainable. Recognizing the vast amount of plastic waste, particularly from milk jugs, they pioneered the use of 100% recycled materials in toy manufacturing. Their mission has always been to prove that eco-friendly products can be high-quality and desirable, challenging the traditional toy industry by focusing on closed-loop recycling and a commitment to environmental responsibility from design to distribution.

A cornerstone of Green Toys' philosophy is their commitment to domestic manufacturing. All of their products are proudly made in the USA, specifically within California. This includes every step of their process, from the initial recycling of milk jugs (primarily from California sources) into plastic flakes and then into their proprietary raw material, to the injection molding, assembly, and packaging. This localized supply chain, largely concentrated in the San Francisco Bay Area, allows Green Toys to maintain rigorous quality control, ensure ethical labor practices, and significantly reduce their carbon footprint by minimizing transportation. By manufacturing locally, Green Toys upholds its dedication to sustainability while providing parents with safe, high-quality, and environmentally conscious toys.
