American Blanket Company's story is rooted in a deep family history within the textile industry and a personal quest for quality. The founder, Rick Lotuff, grew up sweeping floors in his father's garment factory in Ware, Massachusetts, gaining firsthand knowledge of quality fabrics and construction. After witnessing the decline of American textile manufacturing due to overseas competition, and later selling Berkshire Blanket Inc. (a successful company he co-founded), Lotuff was driven by a mission to bring manufacturing back to the USA. In 2012, he launched American Blanket Company with the explicit goal of creating the world's best fleece blanket, made entirely in America, and setting a new standard for luxurious, non-shedding, and non-pilling blankets.

True to its name, American Blanket Company manufactures its products with an unwavering commitment to domestic production. Their factory is located in Fall River, Massachusetts, a city with a rich history as a textile hub. Here, a team of dedicated artisans and craftspeople cut, sew, and finish their premium blankets.
